Domaine Leflaive takes center stage in the pantheon of truly great white Burgundy producers.

Domaine Leflaive is the most prestigious winery in Puligny-Montrachet, boasting a supreme portfolio of vineyard holdings, including five hectares of 1er Cru and 13 acres of Grand Cru. The Domaine heralds from 1717, yet the family line traces back to Joseph Leflaive (1870-1953).

97 points - Falstaff
Pale yellow green. A little shy at first, fine yellow apple touch, some cookie and hazelnut, a hint of yellow fruit. Very elegant on the palate, fine nuances of pineapple, mango, ripe fruit notes, seductive extract sweetness, finely structured, persistent and mineral, a great Chardonnay that should mature for a few more years, sure development and certain ageing potential.

95 Points - Rob Parker’s Wine Advocate
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Bâtard-Montrachet 2011 from Anne-Claude Leflaive is slightly deeper in color than its peers. The nose is a little austere at first, but it unfolds nicely with impressive mineral (slate and flint) scents, well defined and poised. The palate is well balanced with a keen thread of acidity. There is a bright citric heart to this Bâtard-Montrachet with fleeting touches of nectarine and citrus lemon joining the edgy mineral finish. This is a classy Grand Cru – regal but not imposing. (NM)

95 Points - John Gilman
The 2011 Bâtard-Montrachet is also outstanding, offering up a classic bouquet of peach, orange, a youthful touch of pink grapefruit, excellent minerality, a bit of iodine, orange blossoms and new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with laser-like focus, superb grip and exceptional backend energy on the perfectly-balanced and very refined finish. Domaine Leflaive’s Bâtard-Montrachet is always one of the most elegant examples of this grand cru and the refinement of the 2011 vintage dovetails brilliantly with the style predilections of the team at the domaine. Great wine. (Drink between 2021-2045)

94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound
There is just enough reduction present to warrant decanting this should you decide to try a bottle young though I would strongly advise allowing this at least 6 to 8 years of bottle age first as it would be a waste given how much potential this wine possesses. There is a wonderfully silky texture that adds interest to the tautly muscled and powerful big-bodied flavors that explode on the palate staining and notably dry finish. This is seriously impressive but like the 2012 version it's finer than it usually is.
