2021 Puligny-Montrachet | Domaine Jean Monnier
There are virtually no Grand Cru and very few Premier Cru White Burgundies available in Australia or the world.
About Jean Monnier:
Established in 1720 in Meursault Domaine Jean Monnier is one of the oldest established properties in Burgundy, but current owner Nicolas Monnier’s family has been involved in the trade far longer - he is a 16th-generation winemaker.
Although there aren’t many reviews available on the 2021 & 2022 Jean Monnier wines, they recently received 97 points (platinum) at the Decanter World Wine Awards for their 2021 Meursault ‘Vieilles Vignes’. This showcases Jean Monnier’s beautiful fruit quality and density, alongside their refined use of oak, to create vibrant, complex, textured, and yet still beautifully elegant wines.
