96 Points Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion
The 2020 vintage is proving to be an intransigent beast in Frankland. The reds are, on the whole, totally sensational, as this is… This may be a profound wine, judging by its length and detailed construction, but it will require patience.

17+ Points Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com
Different soils and exposure from the Swinney Grenache. Smaller berries, more northerly, more gravel, with leaner soils over clay. Picked earlier than Swinney in mid March usually but harvest was three weeks early in 2020. ‘Very fastidious viticulture’, according to Matt Swinney. 100% oak fermented. A little Mourvèdre was co-fermented with the Grenache.

Darker crimson. Good freshness. Solid and polished tannins. More youthful than the Swinney, Long and tight.

95 Points Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Deep-ish red-purple colour, bright, with a powerful and intense nose of deep-set red cherry layered with fivespice and a suggestion of chocolate. The wine is full-bodied and powerful for a grenache, plushly textured and deep, with layers of flavour and a long carry dusted with powdery tannins. Essency cherry flavours prevail but it is satisfyingly complex. There's a quite impressive backbone. A very smart grenache indeed
