2019 Raymond Usseglio ‘Les Claux’ Cotes-du-Rhone
One of the Lamont’s very own imported wines. straight from the deep winery cellars of France to the walls of our store!
About the Winery:
Domaine Usseglio Raymond is a family estate with a rich history spanning three generations, rooted in the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The story began in 1931 when Francis Usseglio migrated from Italy to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In 1948, he took over a farm and its vineyards in the Piet Long area, producing his first wine the following year. By 1962, Francis had planted his own vineyard in Terres Blanches. His son, Raymond, along with his wife Danielle, officially established Domaine Usseglio Raymond in 1963. Since 1999, the estate has been managed by the third generation, continuing the family tradition of cultivating and producing fine wines.
88 Points Joe Czerwinski
Richer and riper than the 2018 version, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone Blanc les Claux—a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne—is a medium to full-bodied, silky-textured effort to drink over the next few years.
