Surprisingly firm and structured, its long and grainy palate of dark plum, cassis and mulberry flavour finishes long, savoury and slightly herbal, supported by pleasing new oak and powdery tannin. "Medium to full body, with a lovely black purple colour. Blackcurrant and cassis, very slight fresh herb and eucalypt on the nose. This is one of those wines that proves my point about always having two glasses of a wine I want to rate. My first glass, this wine was certainly in the VERY GOOD class. It had lovely freshness, solid black fruit, nice solid chewy tannins. But the second glass? Oh wow! It just grew and grew in my mouth. Its mouthfeel and tannin structure kept developing and developing... the length getting longer and longer... and the flavours rounder and rounder. By the end of the bottle, I was stunned. Man, what a wine!"
