2000 Produttori del Barbaresco Asili Riserva
The Cru Vineyard: Asili
A very famous historic vineyard that produces wines that have always been sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
Cru vinified by Produttori since 1967. The main part of the Asili subzone is formed by a basin with a South/West exposure bordering the Pora vineyard to the West, but more protected from the climatic influence of the river due to the confirmation of the hill which gives a less windy and warmer climate in the central hours of the day. The basin rises to the East in altitude to end in a hill bordering the Rabajà vineyard. The hill also has a South/West exposure although the microclimate is more windy.
Asili wines are always very intense and complex, rather closed in youth, but very elegant; they then open up with a few years of aging, revealing the perfect complexity and elegance of the terroir .

93 points Wine Spectator
Lots of roses, berries and cherries on the nose with hints of strawberries. Full and silky with excellent fruit and a long, fruity and silky finish. Serious wine. (JS)
International Wine Cellar
Good medium red. Ripe aromas of strawberry and milk chocolate, with a whiff of resiny oak. Sweet but closed, with sound acidity and a subtle, gamey sweetness. Finishes with firm tannins and very good grip. This will need at least a few years of aging. (ST)
