The young Aurelien Verdet took over his father's domain, which had been certified organic since 1971 and practiced a very progressive viticulture at the time. Everything is done by hand in the vineyard and cellar, very classic but restrained. Little pressing of the must, ageing in used barriques for only around a year, then bottled with a lot of reductive freshness. La Pretiere comes from vines in Comblanchien, the hamlet between Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Corton hillside.
