The Wine List & Menu TBC

1st Bracket
2024 Cullen 'Mangan Vineyard' Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Our Price, $29
2024 Cullen 'Grace Madeline' Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Our Price, $34
Medium yellow colour with a tinge of gold; intense nutty and spicy aromas, some herbal varietal notes but complexities arising from barrel work are most in evidence on the nose. A powerful, concentrated wine with a generous oak component, which will very likely develop greater complexity, balance and textural interest as it ages.
94 Points - Huon Hooke, The Real Review

2nd Bracket
2024 Cullen 'Metricup' Chardonnay, Our Price, $49
"This wine exhibits beautiful nectarine citrus fruit flavours and has been made in the Chablis style using little oak and cool fermentations to retain the fruit. The seashell label pertains to the influence of the ocean in Margaret river wine growing and the simplicity and beauty of the natural world in our biodynamic winemaking. It is completely different in concept to the Kevin John’s in place and style but made without additions of yeast acidity and anything else.
The new Chardonnay is from the Metricup area, and comes with authentic sustainable credentials from a certified organic vineyard in conversion to biodynamic. Planted in 1998 the vineyard is located on the border of Wilyabrup."

2024 Cullen 'Kevin John' Chardonnay, Our Price, $178
The 2024 Kevin John Chardonnay is stunning and expressive delivering a precise core of grapefruit and cantaloupe lifted by a touch of smoky gunflint and well proportioned French oak. Brilliant tension here with zesty acidity supporting impressive layers of finely tuned flavours and gingery oak through to a fine finish of exceptional length. Delicacy and finesse are the keys here to a wine that will build beautifully in bottle.
96 Points - Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot
2022 Cullen 'Kevin John' Chardonnay, Our Price, $178
The approach to viticulture and then winemaking means that this wonderful chardonnay from the 2022 vintage is as pure as you can get. It all sort of just happens under the umbrella of a fastidious and rigorously uncompromising biodynamic discipline. The aromas are immediately complex and engaging with traces of talc and lime, a little pear and some nice roasted cashew. The palate kicks in with its power and precision displaying attractive savoury minerality, a little spice and vanilla bean and a rich buttery, though controlled textural feel in the mouth. The purity and expression of place is heightened by the fact it is bottle unfined and unfiltered. This is a window into one of the finest vineyards in the land.
98 Points - Ray Jordan

3rd Bracket
2024 Cullen 'Red Moon' Malbec/Grenache/Mourvedre/Petit Verdot, Our Price, $30
From the Mangan vineyard, this is harvested on the night of a red moon – which happens during “a total lunar eclipse when the light filtering through the Earth’s atmosphere dapples the moon in red light”. The blend is 33% Malbec, 23% Grenache, 22% Mourvedre, 17% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot, which spent eight months in old oak. A joy to drink while young, but it has legs. A vibrant colour, this is still youthful and very fresh. We have aromas weaving through plums, blackcurrants, chocolate and dried herbs with hints of coffee grinds. A brightly flavoured style, with medium length and sleek tannins, there is a fine line of zesty acidity. Perfect for your next gourmet barbecue.
92 Points - Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot
2023 Cullen 'Ephraim' Malbec/Petit Verdot, Our Price, $54
The deepest, darkest colour you could ever imagine sits in the glass of this 70/30 blend of malbec and petit verdot from Cullen’s Mangan vineyard. It’s named after Kevin Cullen’s grandfather Ephraim, who like Cullen was a wine pioneer, albeit in the previous century. All naturally fermented and basket pressed before maturation in oak of which 35% was new for 8 months. It’s a powerful statement with rich dark chocolate and black fruit flavours supported by firm chalky tannins and a liberal hit of oak. It's a sort of big easy wine.
94 Points - Ray Jordan
2021 Cullen 'Legacy Series' Malbec MOSH Fruit Day, Our Price, $180

4th Bracket
2023 Cullen Diana Madeline Cabernet Sauvignon, Our Price, $158
The 2023 Diana Madeline is almost pure Cabernet Sauvignon with 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot with splashes of Malbec and Petit Verdot. It opens with superb purity and definition showing cassis and violet aromas with subtle leafy and cedary tones plus subtle oak after 14 months in 40% new French. A seamless balance exists between serious tannins and layered flavours, holding a steady hand through a finish of extreme length. In a word, stunning. The best vintage in recent memory.
97 Points - Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot
2022 Cullen Diana Madeline Cabernet Sauvignon, Our Price, $158
‘Deep colour. Ethereal cassis, light marzipan, vanilla with hints of violet. Fresh blackcurrant pastille, marzipan, cedar flavour and fine bittersweet/ grainy tannins. Finishes claret firm, with pure dark berry fruits and superb mineral length. Elegantly proportioned, pristine and sinuous with excellent cellaring potential. A genuine Australian First Growth highlighting the genius of vineyard site, meticulous harvesting (five separate picking
times), empathetic and imaginative winemaking. 89% cabernet sauvignon, 5% merlot, 3% cabernet franc, 3% malbec, 14 months maturation in new (55%) and seasoned French oak. A classic vintage; up there with the best. Keep for a while to allow some bottle age development as you will be greatly rewarded.'

99 points. Andrew Caillard, The Vintage Journal.
2021 Cullen Diana Madeline Cabernet Sauvignon, Our Price, $158
‘This is a triumph for the vineyard in what was a challenging year in Margaret River. Low yields, birds and rain events all conspired to make things tough but a rigorous biodynamic approach in the vineyard and later in the winery has resulted in a magnificent expression of a slightly cooler climate Margaret River cabernet. High end florals on the nose with notes of violet and red berry overpaying the deeper blackcurrant concentration. The oak is well managed and integrated with the tannins firm and chalky providing the structure to support extended ageing. A worthy commemoration of family matriarch Diana Cullen who would have been 100 this year.’
98 Points - Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot
2013 Cullen Diana Madeline Cabernet Sauvignon, Our Price, $210
"A bright crimson 73/20/7% blend of cabernet, merlot and franc, aged for an average of 17 months in French barriques (60% new). This was Cullen's greatest wine until the arrival of the Vanya Cabernet, and remains one of Australia's greatest cabernet blends, the only real competition coming from other Margaret River blends. The bouquet is perfumed, the palate fluid and graceful, notwithstanding the intensity of its cassis et al fruits which give the wine its awesome length, fine tannins and balance. Drink by 2043."
98 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
2007 Cullen Diana Madeline Cabernet Sauvignon, Our Price, $210
"One might be sceptical about biodynamics, but not about this glorious wine, an emphatic bounce back to top form; indeed, this is as close to perfection as one can imagine in terms of structure, texture and its complex fruit flavours. Great now, greater still in another 10 years, and who knows how long thereafter. Drink to 2032."
97 Points and Top 100 Wines of 2009 - James Halliday, The Weekend Australian

2024 Cullen 'Late Harvest' Chenin Blanc, Our Price, $41
