2019 Leeuwin Estate ‘Art Series’ Cabernet Sauvignon

$122.00

97 Points Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion
”It’s masterful to craft a wine that is structured, detailed, powerful and concentrated, and yet, it feels effortless. Mulberries, cassis, warm spices, violets and cedary oak come together in harmony while the tannins sashay across the palate. Flavours persist, as does the finish, and it will age beautifully but hard to resist now. Impressive wine.”

96+ Points Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate
”The 2019 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon has admirable fruit presence in the mouth… Here, the wine is elegant and fine, very aromatic. It's an excellent wine and a clear statement about the direction and refinement of the Cabernet program at Leeuwin.”

”Erin Larkin (Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate) and Ray Jordan (His own Wine Review Book & Wine Pilot website), I think, both believe that the 2018 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon is superior to this soon to be released 2019 vintage. This is not my opinion. I believe that the 2018 is wonderful and the best Art Series Cabernet released up until that 2018 vintage. The 2019 however is an entirely different beast. There is no similarity hereto any prior vintage. This wine is densely flavoured, but very fine. It has enormous and seamless length and the finest and most distinctive oak texturing of any Leeuwin Estate red to date. This is a stunning, svelte and the most complete and sophisticated Leeuwin Art Series Cabernet to date and I believe that the consumers will love this wine. And I do!
Fine, soft, gentle, textured. Complete. Dense, ripe. Most complete and sophisticated so far. Delicious. “

95 points, Stuart Knox, The Real Review

Deep ruby red in the glass. Classic aromas of cassis, tobacco and cedar shavings lift up and are mirrored on the full, yet supple palate. The balance between the fruit weight and sandy persistent tannins creates a tension that sends the entire package very long to the finish. Very classy and classic Margaret River cabernet.
